Obituary of James Vernon Hirlehey

It is with aching hearts that Jim's family announce his passing on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry. Jim Hirlehey, formerly of Thornhill, leaves behind his adoring wife Jean "June" (nee Cusack) of 56 years. He will be sorely missed by his loving children James Leonard (Kirsi) and Cindy May (Arthur). Jim leaves his loving grandchildren Scott (Sarah), Kyle (Arti), Jody and Krysta with happy memories of special times spent together. A gentle, kind and caring man who cherished his family and friends, his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and his many nieces and nephews. We wish to express our sincere gratitude and thanks to the caring staff of The Lakeview Manor Port Perry Adult Day Program, CCAC, and the amazing Emergency and Palliative Care nurses at the Lakeridge Health Centre as well as the ongoing support of Dr. Amita Dayal. The family of Jim Hirlehey will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel" 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Thursday, November 10th from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Service to celebrate his life will be held in the Chapel on Friday, November 11th at 11 a.m. with Reverend Kathy Firth officiating.
