Obituary of Anne Williams
Marian Althea “Anne” Williams (née Boddington) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in Port Perry, Ontario. Born in India to a British Army couple, and raised in England, France, and Italy, she trained as a nurse in London before moving to Canada, where she energetically built a life filled with family, friendship, and a love of the outdoors.
Anne had an adventurous spirit, whether boating along the BC coast, gardening, or caring for the many animals - both domestic and wild - that found their way into her life. She gave her time generously, helping whenever she could. Her dry humour, sharp intelligence and kindness made her a favourite presence in every community she called home, from the Middlesex Hospital Nurses’ Home, Salt Spring Island and Yellow Point to Victoria, Saturna Island, and beyond.
Anne was a loving and devoted wife to Ivor, Charles (and Ivor again); a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, step-mother, step-grandmother, friend and neighbour. She had a talent for welcoming people into her orbit, and was both eagle-eyed and perceptive.
Anne will be dearly missed by her children, Margaret-Ann (Don DeBats dec.), Simon (Kimmy), and Alison (Steve DeNure); her brother, John Boddington (Suzanne); grandchildren and spouses Theodora & Grant; Lauren & Alessandra; Graham & Sylviane; Matti & Monika; Derek; and Claire and Iain; great-grandchildren, Max, August, Eloise, Lucia, Keira, Miila, and Duncan; dear friends young and old, and many extended family members in the Boddington, Cohn, Crofton, DeBats, DeNure, Vega, Walls and Williams clans. The family is grateful to the staff at West Shore Village for their compassionate care. Private arrangements have been entrusted to the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171). Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.waggfuneralhome.com
