Obituary of Jean Elizabeth Stevens
Peacefully, after a short illness, with her loving daughters at her side, on Monday, April 28, 2025 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, at age 79. Jean (nee Cully), loving mother of Jennifer, Jeanine (Glen), and Julie (Matthew). Cherished grandmother of Zachary, Breanna, Stewart, Gavin, Emma, Joshua, Sarah, Hannah, Emily, and Kate. Dear sister to Jamie Cully (Eileen) and Sharon Whelan. Beloved aunt of Andrew (Carina), and Sharon (Sean). Predeceased by her eldest daughter Jennifer, whom she adored. Chosen and much adored 2nd Mom to Andrea Nicholls (Van De Valk).
Jean was born on July 7, 1945 in Toronto to Ruth (nee Stewart) and James Cully. She grew up in Bowmanville and lived in Oshawa for over 50 years. She was a much-loved member of the Kingsview Church choir and County Town singers (Whitby). She will be dearly missed by all who knew her from the Region of Durham, to her new friends at the Villa in Port Perry. She will be forever missed. Jean loved animals, especially her cats which were a source of joy and entertainment. Jean’s vibrant personality and her love of music, dancing, and fashion, always shone through.
Rested at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171). A Service to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.
