Obituary of Constance Newmarch
CONSTANCE IRENE “CONNIE” NEWMARCH
Peacefully, on Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Bon Air Long Term Care Residence in Cannington, at age 90. Connie is survived by her loving family: her children Donna Loewen (Perry), Paul Snape (Michelle Gervais), and Cathy Scragg (Rick), her grandchildren Jonathan, Natalie, Justin, Kyle, Alex, Nathan and Maya, her brother Edward Newmarch (Carole) and her former husband Donald Snape (Ann VanHelvert).
Connie was born in East Toronto, Ontario to her parents John Edward Newmarch and Constance May (nee Slade), on September 6, 1934. A loving mother and grandmother, she had a career as a professional insurance broker. Connie's realm of kindness was far reaching, and she dedicated much of her time volunteering for organizations such as the Cedar Hill Hockey Association, The Auxiliary to Lakeridge Health Port Perry, Port Perry Lawn Bowling Club, and the Church of the Ascension in Port Perry.
The family of Connie Newmarch will receive friends at the Anglican Church of the Ascension, 266 North Street, in Port Perry, on Thursday, May 15th from 10 – 11 a.m. A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the Church at 11 a.m. with Reverend Ruthanne Ward officiating. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada through the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171).
