Obituary of Willis Mahood

It is with sadness that the family of Samuel Willis Mahood announce his passing. He made his final journey in the wee hours of Tuesday, May 20, 2025. Willis leaves behind the love of his life and wife of over 50 years Lynda Mahood (nee Smith). Loving father to Maureen (Devon) and Shannon (Shawn). Cherished Papa to Madison, Nicholas, Ethan, Owen, and Liam. Loving brother to Karen Sholea. Predeceased by siblings Sandy Mahood and Linda Mahood. He will also be deeply missed by nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and all that knew him.

 

Willis had a successful career with his family owned and operated businesses; Mahood’s Taxi & bus company in Pickering, ON, and S.W. Mahood Trucking operated out of Seagrave, ON.  Willis gave 110% in everything he did, there was no half-way for him.  He shared the same passion and dedication to his family, living by the motto “family is family, and you help out when needed”.  Willis was deeply devoted to his family, and was proud of his roots. Willis had a love for family tradition that brought everyone together. 

 

Throughout his years he made many friends that shared his love of motorcycles, whether taking a ride for a cause, a trip out on Sunday, or heading to Laconia or Port Dover for Friday the 13th. Travelling “home” to Kilkeel, Northern Ireland, and visiting family was something he held near and dear to his heart.  Willis is known for his sense of humour, loyalty, and was at his happiest spending time with those he loved.
