Obituary of Kenneth Black

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our father Kenneth (Ken, Kenny) Black on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at his home in Bowmanville, at age 87. Although we knew his time here on earth was nearing, we were still hoping for a bit more time with him. Our Dad was a real social butterfly. He loved nothing more than a Guinness in hand and a “Slainte” surrounded by friends and family. He was the consummate host and stereotypical Irishman. He had a stroke 10 years ago while at the same time as losing his devoted 2nd wife Kathy to cancer. He is survived by his children Trevor (Jeannie), Jan (Rick), Bill (Tracey), and Keith (the late Lisa); his grandchildren Karly, Taylor (Jamie), and Nolan; his great grandchildren Gage and Selena; and his stepchildren Chris and Michael (Dodie), his step-grandchildren Zion and Sadie. Ken was pre deceased by his parents Robert and Florence, and his siblings Bertie (Betty), Rita (Jim), Lenny (Dorothy), and Vera (Theo). Also loved by his nephews Bill, Stuart, Glen and George, and by his niece JoAnn.

We would like to thank the sensational staff at Seasons Clarington where he happily lived for the last 9 years. He especially enjoyed the music socials and flirting with the female staff. We are grateful to Seasons for working with us in his care these last few months as you all went over and above.
