Obituary of Gloria Ann Fralick

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gloria Ann Fralick on Monday, August 25th, 2025, at the Port Perry Hospital, at age 85. Gloria was the dear daughter of the late Eliza (nee Stephenson) and Maurice Fralick. Beloved sister of Stephen Fralick (Kathy Colley), and Marilyn (the late Angelo Di Paolo), all from Scugog Island. Loving aunt of Anna-Lyn Di Paolo (Andrew Moore), Laura Di Paolo (Ray Edwards) and Julia Di Paolo; and great aunt of Matthew, Zachary, Maléa, and Zara.

Gloria was a teacher at Chester Elementary School in Toronto’s East York district for 35 years. After retirement, she returned to Scugog Island to care for family and lived at the family farm. During this time, Gloria renewed her spirituality and was a full member of the Scugog Island United Church (formerly Grace United Church), where she served as Chair of the Official Board. She was also president of the Women’s Institute, Ontario District, and president of the Scugog Island Hall Board. In later years, she directed the Latcham Seniors’ Chorus. Among her many awards and accomplishments, Gloria was a 2016 inductee to the Volunteer Honour Roll of Scugog Township

Family meant the world to Gloria. She had a way of making you feel special and important. She was always very kind and generous with her time and went out of her way to help her many friends and family members. Gloria was also an avid readerenjoyed traveling, going to the theatre and playing bridge with friends. She will be missed.
