Obituary of Lily Skimming
Peacefully, on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, at age 93. Lily (nee Gamba) born in Glasgow, Scotland, beloved wife of James “Jim” Skimming of Port Perry. Lily and Jim immigrated to Canada with their 3 young children in April of 1967. Loved mother of Elizabeth “Liz” and her husband Barry Bergerson of Blackstock, Elaine and her husband Greg Sullivan of Sunderland and James “Jamie” Skimming and his wife Pam Linton of Ancaster. Loving grandmother of Rachael (Terry Ogorek), Lisa (Reid McTaggart), Caitlin (Erik Oag), Iain Sullivan (Matt James), Megan Skimming and Emily Skimming and great grandmother of Ella, Harrison, Evan, Ben, Isla and Miles. Lily is survived by her brother Ralph (Marian) and her sisters Renee and Michelle and she was predeceased by her sisters Dorothy and Joan.
The Family of Lily Skimming will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985‑2171 on Monday, November 3rd from 7 – 9 p.m.
A Service to Celebrate her life will be held in St. John’s Presbyterian Church in Port Perry on Tuesday, November 4th at 11 a.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Presbyterian Church or to the Port Perry Hospital Foundation.
