As a sister I am heartbroken to lose my brother Gary, but so grateful that he was my brother. I am so grateful that I will have precious memories of our childhood, shared with our parents and siblings Kim and Johnny. I am so grateful to have watched Gary evolve into a man of strong moral character, a man that cherished his family. A man that always had my back.
I have attached two pictures. One when Gary was a young child of five (on the left) with two of his siblings, and the other of Gary in his later years doing what he loves the most. In between that life span his curiosity filled his life with adventure; to travelling, to golf, to music, to lifelong friendships, to love, to creating a family of his own, to a worthy career, to tinkering and creating things, to learning that he could fix pretty much anything that was broke if he put his mind to it, to his love of photography, to constantly learning and, most important to Gary, to finding true peace in nature.
One of the many things that I most admired about Gary was his skill at wood working. He could take a piece of wood and make it into a thing of beauty. He made his own dining table with matching benches. He built his son's coffee table and he built my two oak living room end tables. He worked tirelessly on all the molding and wood features in his century old house in Bowmanville. He made an heirloom wooden rocking cradle and a unique wooden baby rattle with moving parts inside the rattle from one piece of wood. He made numerous unique wooden frames to showcase his larger pieces of stunning photography. The list goes on.
Truly a talented sole.
Till we meet again Gary. Love you.

Gary was a great mentor and kindred spirit . He loved nature and all its beauty which he conveyed through his amazing photographs. He never showed any quit in his desire to do the things he liked ,even while battling the cancer that finally took him.He will be greatly missed by myelf and all that he touched.
