Obituary of Betty MacDougall
Peacefully, at the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry on Monday, December 29, 2025, at age 94. Betty (nee Pretty), beloved wife of the late Ian MacDougall of Belleville and formerly of Ballyronan Road in Don Mills. Loved mother of Susan Beattie (Robert deceased) of Nazareth, Pennsylvania and Shirley Polito (Salvatore) of Port Perry. Loving grandmother of Jacquelyn (Doug Bartek), Shaun, Dominic (Trisha), Nicholas and Christopher (McKenna) and great grandmother of Kaitlyn and Emma. Dear sister of William Pretty (deceased) and his wife Madeline of Toronto and Jean O’Neill (deceased) of BC. Betty was the perfect example of a Loving Mother and friend to all. Very helpful to those in need and instilled in us Christian values. She loved cottaging, boating, skiing, travelling, and hunting down unique antiques with her daughters. She worked for several years as an accountant. Her passion later in her retired life was ballroom dancing, especially in Florida. She and our father loved to dance and had a rewarding social life. She had several interests and was open to trying new ideas and adventures. Her daughters feel blessed to have had her for a mother and friend for so many years.
