ROSS WILLIAM HERON (Veteran WW II with the 48th Highlanders) Peacefully, on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the Community Nursing Home in Port Perry, at age 88. Ross Heron formerly of Ridgeview Drive, Port Perry, beloved husband of Dorothy (nee Taylor) and the late Verna (nee Burke). Loved father of Gayle and her husband Allen Brown of Ajax, and Darlene and her husband Marshall Allen of Cannington, and stepfather of Margaret and her husband John Crossley of Cameron, and Geoffrey Clayton in England. Loving grandfather of Nicole, Jason, Sandy, Sherry and great grandfather of Elisabeth, Tyler and Brooke. Dear brother of Isobel (deceased) and her husband Bruce Hisey (deceased), George Heron (deceased) and his wife Elsie (deceased), Murray Heron and his wife Georgie, Lorne Heron and his wife Margaret, Harold Heron and his wife Margaret (deceased), Arnold Heron and his wife Ruth and Earl Heron and his wife Lois. The family of Ross Heron will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel" 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Tuesday, November 4th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Service to celebrate his life will be held in the Port Perry Baptist Church, Highway 7A in Port Perry on Wednesday, November 5th at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jim Clemens officiating. Interment Erskine Cemetery, Pickering. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund in Port Perry or the Port Perry Baptist Church Missions Fund .
