LAVINIA "LYN" SPEIRS DOWNIE ~ Peacefully, on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, at age 76. Lavinia (nee Tennant), beloved wife of Michael "Mike" Downie of Port Perry. Loving mother of Craig, Lynn and her husband Ernest Thibodeau, and Alan and his wife Jody. Wonderful grandmother of Connor and Callum. Dear sister of William, James, and Thomas. Survived by her cousin Marion Steven and friend Margaret Munro. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews in Canada, Scotland, and England. The family of Lavinia Downie will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985 2171) on Monday, October 26th from 10 – 11 a.m. A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the Chapel at 11 a.m. with Reverend Paul Moorhouse officiating followed by a reception in the front room of the funeral home. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Hearth Place Cancer Support Centre or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
