To Jack & family Mike and I offer our deepest condolences on the loss of your wife, mother and grandma. She was a wonderful lady, always ready for a good laugh and so very proud of her family. She recently commented that within the family, there's always lots of teasing and jibing that goes on but no one takes it too seriously. It was always lots of fun when the family was togther. We also recently talked about the new grandbaby that's coming and how she was so looking forward to that. The bridge girls will certainly miss her. There will be lots of Elva euphonisms that will live on! Joanne & Mike

Uncle Jack And Family. My deepest sympathy to everyone. Aunt Elva was always the pillar of strength in your family and you will all deeply miss her. Even though I had not seen her for while she was often in my thoughts. I will always remember her laughing and the spats she would have with my mom. It is so hard to say goodbye to someone you love so dearly but sometimes death is better than to see someone suffer. Aunt Elva will be going to a good place now and will still have family by her side. She will be loved above just as she has been loved here by all her family and friends. The next little while will be a difficult time for everyone but you can all take pride in knowing that she was well loved by everyone. Love Cathy Brown

Dear Uncle Jack and family, Sincere condolences to you all in the loss of Aunt Elva. She was a terrific wife and mother and we feel for your great loss. She was a wonderful aunt, always so interested in what was going on in our lives for as long as I can remember. We will never forget her great sense of humour. Her genuine heartfelt laugh will always be a part of our memory of her. She played an integral role in creating so many great family memories. In the past few years as the extended Brain family has aged and changed Aunt Elva stepped up to the plate and became the matriarch of our great family. I think I can speak for all of the cousins when I say how much we valued her for this. We miss her already.

Dear Jack & family I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Elva. You may remember me from Simcoe Transit (First Tran), I was the office Manager, and enjoyed the many quiet talks with Elva before run time, sometimes Merv Denure joined in as well. She was a wonderfu lady and will be truly missed by many. Jack, Elva also trained my husband Bob to drive school bus, I know they shared many laughs, as well as Elva's stern warnings. The last time I saw you and Elva was at the Denny's restaurant in Whitby. It was sure a treat to see you both. Elva leaves a great legacy behind. My sincere thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very sad time. Sharron & Bob Field

Elva gave unconditional love, and was so proud of every one on you! Whatever life handed her, she accepted with grace and determination. The passing of such a remarkable person has brought sadness, however with so much of her humour in in all of you, there are certainly better days ahead. Linda

Hi Jack, It has been many years since we last saw and spoke to each other. At this time I offer you my sincere sympathy on the loss of Elva. I still remember the days when we worked together at the dielectric department, in case you do not remember my wife Betty and I. We visited each other a few times and I have fond memories of those visits. Hughie McNair.

To the Brain family, with condolences I would like to offer my condolences with regard the passing of your loved one , I can only imagine the grief that you must be experiencing at this time. I only hope that this letter finds you well and that I can offer you a word of Comfort. At a time like this many people turn away from God and cannot understand why a loving God would take someone away from us that we care for so much. The Bible says that God is a God of love, it doesn't seem very loving to lose someone close to us. But the bible promises us that, that is not God's intention. His intention is that we live forever right here on the earth surrounded by the people we love the most. Psalms 37:29 says
