Dear Donna and family, I'm really sorry to hear of Neil's passing. Your family used to foster me when i was a child, and wanted to let you know, and Neil also. Your kindness is greatly appreciated, and I still remember lots of happy memories living on your farm. I wish you all the best. My condolences and well wishes to all of you. Rest in peace Neil. I would like to express my sincere condolences to Paul's whole family. I met the family back in 1975, when I moved across the road from them in the farm and it changed my life for the best ever since. I would love to have come to the viewing and the ceremony, however I am in Oshawa and I have no car now.

Dear Donna, and Paul and Amy and Robert and all family members, I am saddened to learn of the death of Neil Wanamaker, husband, father, grandfather, brother, Christian. I was hoping this would not happen and if it did, not while I was away on vacation. I am heartened to learn that David Shepherd is serving you for the service on Friday. I pray that the service will have moments of freely expressed grief in the confidence that nothing can separate people from the love of God known in the person of Christ. Certainly, Neil and all of you have endured too much in these months. The temptation to feeling forsaken is constant. But in the church service last Sunday here in Harbord the minister said that it was just in such moments that God is closest. Perhaps that faith and sentiment is worth sharing with you at this time. As I think about Neil I am grateful how vital our relationship was. When the sermon message was fitting he would grasp my hand and whisper "good service" quietly in my ear. When a new treasurer needed to be found for the Seagrave Church Men's Group Neil volunteered and gave good leadership. When Neil and I were together at Gertie's bedside at the moment of her passing he expressed how he could not have expected more from his minister. It makes me sad to recall and feel afresh how much suffering and confusion he has endured. His illness reminds me how fragile life is when heart disease is the issue. A word appointed for this day is from 1 Peter 3:18, "Christ died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;...." May we all be made alive in the spirit. I hope this word serves you along with the many others spoken and written at this time. Yours sincerely, peace and fortitude in believing, Ross Carson, ministry personnel, Seagrave United Church
