Obituary of Anna Cafik

ANNA KLIBER CAFIK Passport in hand, Anna left on a bigger journey. On Friday, March 2, 2007, Anna (nee Steckla) formerly Quann and Primrose, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family. With beautiful memories of Anna to guide us on the path we now have to follow, Anna leaves behind her loving husband Allan Cafik, her sons Keith and Scott Quann, her stepdaughters Christie Cafik and Laura Cafik Martin and her husband Curt Martin and her #1 grandson Connor Cafik. Anna was predeceased by her late husband Bill Quann (1992), her father John Steckla, her mother Agnes Steckla, her birth mother Mary Hynd and two brothers Roy Hynd and Robert Lindell. She is survived by her stepbrother Ian Young in Australia. Anna was born in Scotland April 9, 1950 and immigrated to Canada in 1970. She worked 30 years in the Insurance Industry as an adjuster and later a manager of claims departments with a few companies. Anna earned her AIIC designation and was a member of the executive of the CICMA in Toronto before her retirement following her first bout with cancer. Anna and Al moved to her dream home, a waterfront property on Scugog Island six years ago. Quickly immersing herself in the new community, Anna got involved in the CWL at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the food bank operated by Operation Scugog. Anna was a founding member of the Scugog Island Quilters and instrumental in the delivery of many quilts to the Rose of Durham for newborn babies. Anna loved to sail Lake Scugog, make and drink wine with her many friends on the Island, vacation all over the world and hold creative theme parties for friends.
