Obituary of Joseph John Leger

JOSEPH JOHN LEGER (WW II D-Day Veteran, The Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa 1939-1945) Peacefully, on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, at age 85. John Leger, loved husband of Hazel (nee Cyderman) of Port Perry and formerly of Oshawa. Loving father of Wayne Leger and his wife Jayne of Port Hope and Susan and her husband Paul Sharpe of Guelph. Dear grandfather of Brian Callow, Jason Callow, Dustin Callow, and step-grandfather of Shannon Sharpe, Rian Sharpe, Wayne Kennedy, and Michael Kennedy. Brother of Emma Thebeau (Eloi), Firmin Legere (Ella), Eloi Leger (Jeaninne), Celina Thebeau (Desire), Jeanne Thibault (Josephat), Marc Leger (Bertha), Roger Leger (Jeannette), Carmelle Daigle (Sylvain), Elise Bourque (Louis) and Abel Leger (Lea). Eldest son of the late Fidele and Marie Leger. The Family of John Leger will receive family and friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel" 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Monday, June 11th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Service to celebrate his life will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday, June 12th at 11 a.m. with Reverend Nancy Monteith officiating.
