Obituary of Frances Driscoll

FRANCES DRISCOLL 1925 ~ 2011 'Frankie' as she was affectionately known by one and all, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on December 13, 2011. Born to her parents Charles and Barbara Gerl, she is pre-deceased by her husband Tom, and survived by her extensive loving family including her children, Susan, Michael, Dennis, Anne, Joseph, Margaret, their spouses Nancy, Marlene, Darrell and Paul; her eleven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Frankie fully enjoyed her many years of service with the CIBC branch in Oshawa and developed close relationships with her co-workers, she often spoke fondly of those days in later years. Music was an important part of Frankie's life. She learned to play the piano as a child growing up with her family in Montreal and participated in local dance and theatre groups throughout her life. Frankie cherished her relationships with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and she constantly gave her love freely and unconditionally. Open and friendly, Frankie was one of those people who could strike up a conversation with strangers and make them feel like friends within minutes. Beneath her gentle demeanor, Frankie possessed a strong and independent spirit that stayed with her through her final days. She will be missed greatly by all of us but we are comforted knowing that the bright light of her love will burn on in our hearts forever.
