Obituary of Bruce Alexander Rich

BRUCE ALEXANDER RICH ~ Beloved husband of Allison, father to Zach and Vanessa, baby brother to Dorothy and Roberta, grandfather to Alexander and Elizabeth made his way to the stars peacefully on Wednesday, January 11, 2012. Bruce’s sharp intelligence and deep compassion touched an extensive sphere of humanity in both his professional and personal life. Living with an inspired joie de vive, Bruce embraced the meditative nature of an early morning tee time and the Zen of equine companions, lovingly tending to his and Allison’s trio of horse beauties Dixie, Evelyn and Scarlett. Bruce began life in the Foothills of Calgary, Alberta on March 13, 1950. His career with CIBC took him to Toronto in 1991 where he continued with great professional success, ultimately retiring as a Vice President with Hewlett Packard. He married Allison in 2004 and they began their journey together, hearts and souls entwined, living a rich and loving life. In his life, Bruce became a guru to many, gently offering warmth and guidance to broken and searching souls and always inspiring those who worked with him to be their very best self. Bruce’s children carry the legacy of kindness, respect and universal acceptance and appreciation for people as they are – unconditionally. He was deeply loved by so many and the universe will remain a brighter and better place for his benevolent energy. A time to celebrate his life will be held at the Toronto Cricket and Skating Club, 141 Wilson Avenue in Toronto on Tuesday, January 17th from 7 – 9 p.m. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Humane Society or the Salvation Army as he deeply appreciated their support of the most vulnerable, regardless of clan or creed. Live long and prosper, be kind and love large. Arrangements have been entrusted to the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry, (905-985-2171).
