Obituary of Robert Burns

On Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, at age 83. Robert “Spike” Burns, devoted husband of Roberta Ann “Robin” (nee Spotton) of Port Perry. Loving father of Peggy, Scott, and Chris and stepfather of Karen, Kathy, Terry, Ronnie, Kevin, Steven, and Robin. Caring grandfather of 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Spike was born in Oshawa and lived more than 30 years in Muskoka. A nationally recognized and decorated boat racer and an honourable member of the Canadian Power Boating Hall of Fame and the Canadian Boating Federation of Canada Hall of Fame.

 

Rested at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171).

 

A Celebration of his life will be hosted by the family at the Latcham Centre, 121 Queen Street, Port Perry, on Sunday, May 27, 2018 from 1 – 4 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque in Spike’s name to Cystic Fibrosis Canada, www.cycticfibrosis.ca.
