Obituary of Wemke DeJong
Peacefully, on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Ajax, at age 90. Wemke (nee Ytsma) formerly Sibma, beloved wife of Ben DeJong of Port Perry, and formerly of Nestleton, and the late Douwe Sibma of Whitby. Loved mother of Ruth Sibma (Walter), Anna Keaney (Jim), Walter Sibma, Peter Sibma (Hilda), and stepmother of Ilene Bergen (Karl), Brian DeJong (Cheryl), Ivan DeJong (Brenda), Anita DeJong (John), Norman DeJong (Nadia), and Ralph DeJong. Loving Beppe of Tina, Jenna, Lara, Sean, Kevin, Daniel, Joshua, Heather, Steffen, Catherine, Sarah, Alex, Kristen, Natalie, Joselyn, and Alannah. She will be remembered by her great grandchildren, and her brothers in the Netherlands, Johannes Ytsma and Bindert Ytsma, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family of Wemke DeJong will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Wednesday, December 19th from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. A Service to Celebrate her life will be held at the HOPE CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 14480 Old Simcoe Road in Port Perry on Thursday, December 20th at 11 a.m. Interment Cartwright Union Cemetery, Blackstock.
