Obituary of Captain John Kuipers
Peacefully, with Joanne by his side on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Oshawa, at age 56. John Kuipers, dearly loved husband of Joanne (nee Sytsma). Loved father of Amanda (Edward McLean), Lindsay (Ash Nahle) and Chelsea (Patrick Lapienis). Loving Opa of Ewan. Dear son of Nelly and the late John Kuipers. Cherished brother of Janet Seymour, the late Wilma Vanginhoven (John) Sandra Burghraef-Burbine (the late Jim and the late Rob), Jim Kuipers (Kim), Eleanor Wielemaker (Ken), Ron Kuipers (Diana) and Jennifer Vanderkooi (Roger). Johnny’s larger than life personality will be missed by everyone who knew him.
A private family service was held on Wednesday, April 1st at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985‑2171). A public Celebration of his life will be held after the COVID-19 pandemic has been resolved. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert.
