Cousin Tina has told me what a wonderful person he has been, and I want to extend my condolences to all of you in his family. My thoughts are going out to Ray's family...I remember as a kid in the 80's going into Home Hardware with my Dad and Ray helping us with whatever we needed and I thought his mutton chops were so cool! Now when I go into the bike shop or the art shop now I still can imagine the sound of his cowboy boots clunking across the floors. Rest in Peace my Friend.

Sending heartfelt Condolences to all his Family and Friends .Ray was a wealth of knowledge, an Icon in the Home Hardware Store in Port Perry for forty years. On his Day off there was a void in the Store. He knew where every piece of merchandise was located. Everyone asked for Ray when entering the store. We were fortunate to know Ray and the Family and have him for a Friend. REST IN PEACE.

My deepest condolences to the Whitfield family, Ray's countless friends, acquaintances, and former customers. I worked with Ray at Home Hardware for 3+ years and to say he was a staple at that store would be an understatement. "Ray from Home Hardware" was a fixture in Port Perry and will be missed by all. Grateful to have known and call him a friend for nearly 20 years.

My deepest condolences to the Whitfield family, Ray was a truly amazing kind person whom I served many coffees to at the front porch bistro in port perry. He was always willing to help and give us a big smile at the end of his day! My beautiful mother Eileen would always call him Big Ray!
He was always kind to her and many other customers. I remember him telling me the story of the big bull bouncing him over as he told me back in the good old days! Never to be forgotten Big Ray! We love and will miss you always xo

My condolences to all of Ray's family. I was sad to hear that Ray had passed. Myself and my family have known Ray for more than 50 years. Ray came to work on our farm when I was a young boy. I remember how hard a worker he was and that he was as strong as an ox. He was a babysitter to both my brother Garth and I when we were growing up. When I got older and moved away I would see Ray from time to time in the Home hardware store when I was in town and where he was the one constant thing in that store for 40 years. He knew everyone and we all knew him. Such a kind and gentle man. RIP Ray.
