Born in Oakland, Ontario, Norma was the youngest daughter of the late Walter and Emily (Waller) Burrage. She married Donald, the love of her life, on October 27th, 1945. Their life journey brought them with their children to Nestleton area in 1960. Norma and Don grew tobacco until 1976, then focused on cash crops and hogs, establishing a successful family farming business which their sons and grandsons continue to operate. Norma was active in the community as a member of the Janetville United Church Women, and the Nestleton Women’s Institute. “Lady Norma Frew” was also a member of the Red Hat Ladies of Lindsay and enjoyed many outings with them. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed golfing. But her greatest passion was genealogy and for 40 years, by snail-mail with her sources in the United Kingdom, she compiled hundreds of charts taking our family history back through numerous generations. Norma and Don enjoyed travelling for many years and spent their winters in Lakeland, Florida for over 23 years. A life well lived, Rest in peace Mum.
