Obituary of Olive Margaret Smith
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Olive, in her 89th year, on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Oshawa. Olive (nee Irvine), beloved wife of the late Jeffrey Thomas Smith. Much loved mother of Debra Karn, Laura Bourgeois, Dianna Savage, Thomas Smith and Robert Smith. Gramma of Sarah (Danny), Kimberly (Daniel), Matthew (Natalie), Eiko (Alex) and Brandon (Shellie). Proud great-ma to nine. Dear sister of Jean Walker, Winnie Tobin, Darlene Gibson, Herb Irvine, Ken Irvine and predeceased by her siblings May Raby, Barb Evans, Dave Irvine and Winston Irvine.
Olive was a very proud and active member of the Port Perry Community, being born and raised here and then raising her own family here. She enjoyed being part of many groups and driving her friends around town but her most favourite were her lawn bowling and euchre.
The family of Olive Smith will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Monday, November 14th, 2022 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the chapel at 11 a.m. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert.
