Obituary of Joanna Hendrika Maria Kersten
Peacefully, on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Whitby, at age 83. Joanna (nee Heemskerk), beloved wife of John A. Kersten of Port Perry. Loving mother of Tony Kersten and his wife Brigid, Marita and her husband Terrence Golphin, and Michael Kersten and his wife Robin all of Port Perry. Loved Oma of Kyle Kersten (Kailey), Matthew Baker (Melissa), Beth Baker (Rowan), Nathan Kersten, Noah Golphin (Kylie), and Jack Golphin and great Oma of Paisley Kersten. She will be remembered by her brother and sisters and her nieces and nephews.
The family of Joanna Kersten will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Sunday, January 8th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1710 Scugog Street (Hwy 7A) in Port Perry on Monday, January 9th at 11 a.m. with Father Keith Wallace officiating. Interment Prince Albert Pine Grove Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson Society or the Port Perry Hospital Foundation.
