Obituary of Verna Dorthy Appleton

After a lengthy illness on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Lakeview Manor in Beaverton, at age 88. Verna (nee Hicks), beloved wife of the late Andy Appleton of Port Perry. Loving mother of Dianne Davison of Port Perry, Ron Appleton of Port Perry, and Janet and her husband John Gauvin of Woodstock. Loved grandmother of Leanne and her husband Clayton Wilson, Jenna and her husband Russ Taylor, Laura and her husband William Dowkes, Kim and her husband Ryan Reeves, James Gauvin and his wife Sam and Jessica Gauvin and great grandmother of Dayton, Lincoln, Grayson, Katherine, Jack, Emerson, Abby, Braden (deceased) and Memphis. Dear sister of Doreen Smith, Marie Malcolm (deceased), Margaret Lee, Robert Hicks, Greta Smith, Barbara LeCain (deceased), and William Hicks. She will be remembered by her nieces and nephews, and extended family. Interment Groveside Cemetery, Brooklin.
