Obituary of Bruce Cummings

Born on April 16th, 1936 and passed away at the Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry, on Friday, June 2, 2023. Bruce Cummings was predeceased by his wife Shirley (nee Larocque) and he will be sadly missed but his children, Jack and Karen Cummings, Karin and Peter MacIntyre, Brenda and Tom Tennyson and Steven and Jackie Cummings and all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sisters and brothers, and nieces and nephews.

Bruce was a lifetime resident of Scugog Township and was inducted into the sports hall of fame in 2017 as Pioneer and Sport. He was a respected member of the Standardbred Horse Association and a past director of the Ontario Harness Horse Association.

A gathering to celebrate the lives of both Bruce and Shirley will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 1 – 4 p.m. at the farm (12252 Old Simcoe Road in Port Perry). Please bring your own chair. Private interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
