Obituary of Connie Swain
Connie Swain (nee Wheeler) was born June 7th, 1930, and passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 29th, 2023 at Victoria Manor in Lindsay. Connie was foremost a mother and grandmother, closely followed by the love of learning and teaching. This love of learning is what encouraged her to go back to grade 13 (as an adult) and continue on to get her Bachelor of Arts from Trent University at the age of 46. The light went out of Mom’s life with the passing of her beloved husband, Ernie Swain in 2015. Connie is the loved mother of Judith Mountjoy (Brian), Bob Swain (Cheryl Goff), and Deb (Brad McCann). Loving grandmother of Kari Anne, Kim, Valerie, Jessica, Katie, Reid, Emma, and great grandmother of 11. Dear sister to Dianne Pierson, and sister-in-law to Loretta Wheeler. Predeceased by her siblings Bob Wheeler (Shirley and Margaret), and Glenn Wheeler (Lorna).
The Family of Connie Swain will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Sunday, December 3rd from 6 - 8 p.m., and on Monday December 4th at 10 a.m. A Service to celebrate her life will be held in the Chapel at 11 a.m. Donations to the Alzheimer Society, or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
