My sincere condolences to the Scott family. Mr. Scott was my favourite teacher throughout 5 years at PPHS ‘83-87. He was funny and very kind to me…a cheery classroom where my opinions mattered, and time slipped away. His worldly knowledge and experience helped prepare me for life’s journey. RIP Mr. Scott.

To the Scott family:
I was saddened to hear of John's recent passing.
I have many fond memories of time spent with him whether it was on a cross country ski hill, a tennis court, a golf course or travelling.
I was also always impressed with his vast knowledge on many topics of interest.
You will be greatly missed and never forgotten, mon ami!

Sincere condolences to the Family Scott in recent losses, especially of "Mountain Man" John, long a classroom "neighbour" in Port Perry High School for many years in 60's and 70's (the good ol' days). His enthusiasm and energy were remarkable in fields of sport and travel, long after his retirement from teaching. He is missed, but memories are strong and will live long, all much cherished. To the Scott Family: It was with deep sadness that we heard about the passing of John today, Friday, December 22nd. John was a treasured friend and neighbour for so many years. Memories of hockey, Nordic skiing, and tennis and sharing in the experience of the Nonquon Triathlon are foremost in my mind. He lived a wonderful life, filled with incredible memories and experiences. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Mr. Scott taught me German for 2 years at PPHS in the 80s. I always appreciated his sense of humour and admired his beautiful white hair. May his memory be a blessing.

John was admired and respected by a whole town and thousands of students. He and other teachers would come to Poplar Park for a swim at lunch time when it was closed to the kids.
Sincere condolences from the whole Baird family.
