Obituary of Joan Avis Davis

(A WW II veteran, Joan served with the Auxiliary Territorial Service from 1942 to 1945. She was posted to a mixed artillery unit in south east London where she was stationed throughout the blitz.)

 

Peacefully, on Friday, June 7, 2024 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, one month before her 100th birthday. Joan (nee Clark), beloved wife of the late Arthur Leggett (1999) and the late Ronald Davis (2018). Loved mother of Avis and her husband Doug Miller of Seagrave. Loving grandmother of David Miller and his wife Katie of Toronto and great grandmother of Arthur. Joan will be missed by the Davis family. Predeceased by her brother Don Clark and her sister Patricia Ford.

 

Throughout her long life she enjoyed all kinds of crafts and artistic endeavours from painting and sketching to needlework, rug hooking and intricate crochet. A life-long learner, Joan loved to read, travel, explore new hobbies and discuss daily news events.
