Kay was born in the small town of Brechin, Ontario. She met Basil at a dance when they were just teenagers and would be together 77 years later. In 1951, Bas and Kay moved to Oshawa. Kay worked at McLaughlin Coal company for 5 years until they started their family. She was a wonderful and devoted mother and spent her life caring for and tending to all four of her children’s needs. She was also an extraordinary grandmother to all 8 grandchildren, helping to raise them and caring for them as well. Kay also loved puzzles, knitting, bingo and playing golf. Kay and Basil spent most of their life in Oshawa, moving to Sonya in 1985 where they lived on 5 acres. Just prior to COVID, they moved back to Oshawa to their condo to settle into retirement. Basil passed away in September of 2023 and Kay truly lost the love of her life. They were both totally dedicated to one another. Kay will be missed by all of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. There is no service at her request.
