Obituary of Anna Tumanowski

It is with great sadness that the family of Anna Tumanowski announce her peaceful passing at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, Ontario on Friday, December 6, 2024. Anna was born on April 17, 1933 in Kozłów, Woj. Tarnopol, Poland to Wojciech and Paulina Guśkiewicz. Anna, the youngest of nine, immigrated to Sudbury, Ontario, Canada from Poland in 1959. Soon after (1960) she married Jan “John” Tumanowski. Anna was a devoted member of St. Casimir Catholic Church and a longtime member of the S.P.K. Ladies Auxiliary. In 2022, she received an honourary membership to the Polish Combatants Association (S.P.K.), Branch 24, Sudbury. In addition, Anna spent many years volunteering for the Sudbury Polish Scouting Association. Anna placed her family above everything else. Nothing made her happier than seeing her family together, enjoying her wonderful Polish cooking and baking. She was also an avid reader and gardener. Anna was a kind hearted and generous person with a colourful personality and a quick wit. She will be greatly missed. Loving mother to Henry Tumanowski and Krystyna Rogers (Michael). Cherished Grandmother/Babcia to Lauren (Adam) and Stephanie (Travis). Aunt to several nieces and nephews residing in Poland and New York. Predeceased by her beloved husband Jan (1985), her parents, two brothers and six sisters (Poland), and her lifelong friend Gloria Skowronski.

The Family of Anna Tumanowski will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Tuesday, December 10^th from 6 – 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Casimir Catholic Church, Paris Street in Sudbury on Saturday, December 21^st at 11 a.m. Interment at Park Lawn Cemetery in Sudbury.
