Cyril "Skip" Pothier

Obituary of Cyril "Skip" Pothier

Peacefully, with his son by his side on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Port Perry Place, at age 82. Skip Pothier of Port Perry, beloved husband of the late Doreen (nee Yates) (2015). Loving father of Michael Pothier of Port Perry. Dear brother of Marie and her husband the late Patrick Connors of Nova Scotia, and the late Anita and her husband Terry LeBlanc of New Brunswick. Will be remembered by his nieces and nephews.

In 1963 Skip graduated from Moncton University and by June was living in Toronto employed by the Government of Canada at 21 years of age. After 16 years Skip shifted his CGA abilities to the Province of Ontario and Port Perry became our hometown in 1980. Retiring in 1996 Skip found a new passion in R/C Airplanes, building and flying his many models off of Lake Scugog. Eventually he created the Port Perry Float Flyers club and had many great memories. Skip also kept his eye in the sky with his love for birding. Skip would capture many beautiful moments and share these in his annual Christmas Calendar. In 2021 dementia necessitated a move to Port Perry Place. The family would like to thank the beautiful people of Port Perry Place for their care and compassion. The family would also like to thank Wagg Funeral Home for their professional and personal handling of arrangements.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, “McDermott-Panabaker Chapel”, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985‑2171).
