Obituary of Dora Irene Dowson

DORA IRENE DOWSON (Former owner of Dowson’s Red and White, Member of the Port Perry United Church, and the Maybelle Rebekah Lodge in Port Perry) Peacefully, on Monday, April 30, 2012, at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, at age 97. Dora (nee Reesor), beloved wife of the late Merlin Dowson of Port Perry. Loving mother of Kenneth Dowson and his wife Maureen of Blackstock, Shirley and her late husband Donald Gibson of Blackstock, and Nancy and her husband Dave Obee of Port Perry. Dora will be sadly missed by her 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Elma Vernon of Port Perry and she was predeceased by her brothers Gordon and Charles Reesor. The family of Dora Dowson will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel" 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Wednesday, May 2nd from 2 –4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Service to Celebrate her Life will be held at the Port Perry United Church on Thursday, May 3rd at 11 a.m. with Reverend Elaine Hall officiating. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert. A Rebekah service will be held in the Funeral Home Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Port Perry United Church Beautification Fund.
