Dear Shelley & Karen, I was saddened to hear of your loss. Although I don't personally know you, your Mom and mine were best friends for many years. I wish you peace in these difficult days. Know that Margaret Hope would wish you comfort and I'm sure her thoughts will be with your mother and all the good times they enjoyed together. Shirley McCann, Joan Beaudet, and Margaret Hope

Dear Shelley, Karen, and Family, I can appreciate your sorrow and distress at this time, and wish that I could be there with you to honour Connie, as you so kindly did for my mother just a few weeks ago. When I looked at Connie's picture, so well displayed on this website, she brought back such wonderful memories. I, like all of your friends, was always warmly received and kindly treated. My memories of the Kershaws is of course centred around Gull Lake and our fortunate childhoods. I look forward to toasting Connie and Vern with an 'Old Fashioned' when I see you this summer. The 'oft repeated saying "a life well-lived", surely refers to your Mother. The very best of wishes to you, Shelley, Karen & your family members. You are very special to me. LOVE from JOHN, and Tammy and our family.

Shelley & Karen, Sorry to learn about your mother's passing. We still think of the point on Sugar as your parents place and do think of them. It is the end of an era of sorts for me as it seems most of my parents close friends are now gone. Hopefully Vern, Howard, Margaret and Connie are now together reminiscing about the good times. Your mother was a wonderful person and certainly her 91 years was a full life. Unfortunately Brian and I are both unable to attend the service but will think of you and Karen and most of all Connie. Let's not have sad news be the only time we communicate with each other. We are only a short swim away ! Thinking of you both. Love Jill & Brian

Shelley, I am so sorry to hear that your Mother has died. You had to put up with so much when you helped her to move from her home, even though it was the best thing for her. As we only get one Mother in our lives,I hope you can remember the good things about her. (I know , for myself, I don't want to remember my Mom as the difficult woman she is today.) Strength, Lynnell

Dear Shelley: My prayers are with you and your family as you cope with the loss of your mother. While I didn't know your Mum well, I remember spending a couple of wonderful evenings with her at your cottage. She was a great conversationalist (just like you!!) and I really enjoyed her company. She was also very passionate about Gull Lake and it was a privledge to meet one of the Association's "founding members". You set a great example Shelley in the time and love you devoted to the care of your Mother in her later years and I really admire you for that. I hope you are able to take some time for yourself at the cottage and hope to see you soon. Sincerely, Barb
