We missed seeing our old friend by a week, we left for our week trip to Port Perry the following week. We will miss him always. Our only consolation is that he is with his lifelong "Chum", his Dorthy. Harvey and Dorthy come up frequently on our screen saver photo program. They are standing, on a sunny day, on one of our Lake Michigan Dunes, a bouy in the background. It was taken during one of their visits on the way to Florida, where we were neighbors for the winter. I took them a copy of this picture when we visited them last in North Bay, on the beautiful ROCK where they built their home and cherished family and neighbor visits. The amazing thing about this picture is that they are standing side by side, and they are casting only one shadow. I think this is such a fitting tribute to the devotion they shared for their whole life. So Harvey will always be a part of our lives, as is Dorthy. We hope that the Chambers family will keep in touch with us and stay a part of our extended family.

Dear Nancy and family, I was said to hear of your dad's passing. I will remember him around the campfire in North Bay. I will think of him in his incredible garden. What a green thumb he had! And I will never forget his kindness to me and the girls. I can picture Dorothy and Harvey in their own cottage in heaven. Your mom is heading down for a swim, and your dad is starting to fix the place up. Our thoughts, prayers, and love are with you.

Dear Nancy, Donna and Thom, From the wind-swept plains of Central Asia, my thoughts wander back to some marvellous, wonderful, magical moments Kathy and I (and the kids - or was it just Gloria?) spent with Dorothy and Harvey ("crocodidle") at that beautiful cottage. Your parents were among the most kind and generous people we've met, always there for us - especially for Kathy when she really needed it. Your lovely parents will live in our hearts forever. Our lives have been enriched enormously having known them. If there is a heaven, you KNOW where Harvey is, with Dorothy...My sincere condolences to all of you during this difficult time. Dear Thom, Nancy & Donna, It is very hard to drop a note when I feel I should be there with you. Harvey and Dorothy were like parents to us and sure, we had a couple of difference of opinion but you know Harvey he is always right.((NOT) This past year has been hard on him ,when you share so many years with the love of your life and lose them probably just doesn't seem to much to hang in there for. They are together again and the grieving is for us to do, remember our prayers and thoughts are with you now and in the passing days .Keep in touch ALL OUR LOVE Kathy & Jerry

Dear Thom, Nancy & Donna: It is with great sorrow that I learned of your father's death. He was a warm, dedicated and conscientious volunteer. He always phoned in his friendly visiting volunteer reports and I greatly enjoyed chatting with him. He was so proud of all of you. He gifted us with delicious raspberries earlier this summer. He said that he enjoyed picking them and giving them to friends. I will miss him. Jenny Yorgason Community Care Scugog
