I am so sorry to hear about the loss of such a wonderful man/teacher. He was my criminal law teacher at Durham college and he was the most amazing teacher I have ever had and the one with the most incredible stories of past experiences he had as a cop. Its always sad to lose a loved one but you must remember they are in a place where they will always be in your life and heart forever. Speeder was one of a kind person and will be truly missed and loved forever.

Speeder was a teacher of mine this past year for the Public and Private Investigations program. He was definately known as being there for the students. Every tuesday he would be outside with us teaching us the tricks of surveillance whether it would be raining, snowing or freezing temperatures. He was an inspiration and I know that I will take what he taught me and use it in many ways through the rest of my life.

The most comforting thing happened today. After Speeder's funeral I was sitting outside thinking of him, and a the most beautiful black butterfly with green polka dots flew around me. It landed on my knee and just sat there for a few seconds. It made my heart smile, because today at the church he was referred to as a caterpillar who has turned into a butterfly and now has wings to soar. Thank-you so much Speeder. I will never forget how you helped me and I will always remember the sparkle you brought to my life. I love you... Shonagh XOX "Talk to ya later Kid!"

Reading all the wonderful tributes to Bob as a teacher really reminded me of the Grade 8 Class that we shared at Humewood Public School in Toronto and our teacher Mr. Sues. What a year that was!!! Mr. Sues always mainained that Bob would have to be a policeman when he grew up - that would be the only way that he would stay out of trouble. It would seem that Bob and Mr. Sues shared many of the same qualities as a teacher - Bob always respected Mr. Sues and said if he ever became a teacher he wanted to be just like him - from all of Bob's students comments I think he was - Mr. Sues would have been so proud of him. All of my memories of Bob are from the early teenage years but I know that no one who ever knew Bob will ever forget him. My condolences to Eleanor, Don, Margaret and rest of Bob's family.

Good morning class "GOOD MORNING SPEEDER" If you ever had Speeder as a teacher there are so many different ways that he will be remembered not only by the way he conducted class but also the way he was outside of class. I will always remember the way speeder would talk about the criminal code. It was not just a text book but to him it was our bible. It was never to be more then 5 feet from our body at anytime. Speeder was always there to help his students out with any problems. When a fellow classmate of mine passed away we went to speeder with an idea on how we would like to do a dedication to this classmate after graduation. Not only did he help make this happen but he bent over backwards to make it happen. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the help that you did, i will never forget that. You were not only at great teacher that i had the pleaser of having but you were also a person that anyone could turn to. You will be greatly missed by all. speeder touched so many people in so many different ways and those are the memories that we will have forever. Thanks for a great 2 years. Gillian

Robert Anderson, or Speeder as most of us have grown to know him as, was a man who deeply loved his teaching. This was more than evident when he would come to class with a sore back, or had lost his voice, but would still insist to teach and get all that vital information into our heads. I only knew him for just about 1 semester, but I can honestly say he has been one of my favourite teachers I have ever had. I know that my fellow students share in your grief, as do I. I pass on my sencere condolences and wish nothing but strength to Robert W. Anderson's family and friends. He will truely be missed.

I really dont know where to start when it comes to expressing my feelings about "Speeder". He was truly one in a million. Speeder had the biggest heart and the softest spot for all of his students right in the middle of it. He truly put everyone before himself, especially us, his students. I learned more from you, than anyone else in the 20 years that I have been living. The thing that I feel the worse about, is all the students in future Police Foundation programs that will never have the privaledge to be taught by you. You truly were an inspiration to us all Speeder, and saying that you will be missed is such an understatement. Because there really are no words to describe what myself along with my fellow classmates are feeling. May you rest now Speeder, and we all know that no matter what we choose to do in life, we take comfort in knowing that you will always be with us.
