2. Place Them in a Columbarium Niche

A columbarium with a niche is another option for the interment of cremated remains. Columbariums are buildings specifically made to house numerous urns, while ossuaries are enormous chests or cabinets specifically made to house multiple urns. These kinds of facilities are typical in religious settings like cemeteries and churches. The opening to a niche is traditionally marked with a bronze or marble plaque with the deceased person's name and an epitaph or other meaningful inscription.

3. Keep Them at Home

In this case, the ashes are kept at home, usually in an urn but sometimes even in something more aesthetically pleasing. Many families take consolation in knowing that their loved one is never far away. To retain the ashes at home, you should do so in a safe and tamper-proof urn.

4. Scatter The Ashes

Spreading the ashes in a noteworthy location is a common choice. Your loved one's favorite outdoor destination might be the beach, a park, or somewhere else.
