Trust the Feeling of Moving On, Even if your Heart Doesn’t Feel Ready
The passing of a loved one can be one of the most dificult events that we experience. The majority of the popoulation will experiences some sort of lose at one point or another. Everyone experiences the natural process of grieving diffierent. There is no set timeline about how short or long the grieving process should take. It’s a time of tragedy and emotional stress, but for for some people there is a large divide between the head and the heart. You can feel like you know that it’s time to move on, but your heart may not be ready to let go. In this article, we will take a look at three ways to help or remember when your heart isn’t ready to move on but your head tells you its time to let god.
As mentioned in the introduction there is no set timeline that grief takes, each person heals at a different rate. When people say “moving on”, there isn’t a thing as moving on when it comes to grief, but you learn how to cope with it over time. Sometimes you may feel like in your head is telling that you are grieving too long, but remember everyone takes different times to heal. Remember that for some grieving may take only a few short years, yet others it may be years. You may think that it will only take a few weeks but give yourself plenty of time, for you heart to catch up to your head and its grief. Even if you are grieving after a year, there is nothing wrong with you; it just takes more time for some people then others. Try to remain patient with yourself, emotionally and physically moving on, take different times. They are not connected, take your time and move at your own pace.
Consider a Therapy Animal
There are many new studies that prove the therapeutic value of having animals within the home. If you have someone such as a spouse pass and you are living alone, it may be time to consider adopting a pet. Pets are able to provide an unconditional type of love and companionships. Animals are able to provide love and loyalty and life back into you home. When you have a pet within your home you are re-establishing a new emotional bond and giving your heart a chance to heal. An animal may help you take your mind off of you physical pain and help you to have love in your home again.
When is the Time to Ask for Help?
When you feel like you don’t have any other options, and the grief is taking over your head and heart, it may be time to go and speak to a counsellor. Many people are ashamed over the thought of speaking to a counsellor but they will help you move forward, before the momentum of grief becomes crippling. They will help stop the momentum and guide you on the path of grief, when both your heart and head are ready.
