During a period of loss or mourning, coping can be difficult. The emotions that we experience can be incredibly overwhelming at times and we often don't know how to begin the healing process. This unfortunately can build and cause debilitating symptoms that affect both your emotional and mental well-being, as well as your health. We know that this process can be hard and endeavour to do what we can to help those struggling to push through. With this in mind, we aim to cover a number of different and extremely helpful grief support resources. These groups and organizations are your best bet at finding the support that you need. In addition to those listed below, you can also get in touch with us at Wagg and we will be happy to point you in the right direction.

Ontario Funeral Service Association

Their website has a number of useful resources, located in an easy-to-find tab on their main menu. Their list of grief support resources covers anything you may need to know about grief support services in Ontario as well as a ton of helful links. Furthermore, they freely offer their contact information and are happy to respond to any requests made via phone, fax, or email.

Association for Death Education and Counselling

This website is a fantastic resource that contains basically anything you need to know. They even have a page that allows you to search for a local, qualified grief counsellor anythwere in the world. The group has around 2,000 members that encompass a wide array of professions. If you're looking for top quality grief counselors, this in an excellent place to start.

Local Funeral Homes

While it may go without saying, these professionals know exactly who you need to get in touch with in your community in order to get proper counselling. They are a wealth of information and their knowledgable staff will always point you in the right direction.

Center for Loss & Life Transition

This website is a great place to go if you need any information on grief or how it affects us all. It is operated by Dr. Alan Wolfelt, who is an expert in grief education and management. The group offers to give any information if you have any questions for them. Dr. Wolfelt has written many books that cover the topics of loss and grief and is incredibly active in the academic community.

As always, our staff here at Wagg Funeral Home are willing and able to answer any questions you may still have when it comes to navigating grief support resources. We cultivate a quality list of resources, both local and otherwise, and are more than happy to provide recommendations.
