Obituary of David Alexander Wielinga
DAVID ALEXANDER WIELINGA
Peacefully at home, surrounded by family and friends, David was brought safely to the arms of his Saviour and Lord on Sunday, April 30, 2006, at the age of 7. David fought an incredible battle against his own Goliath and by the influence he has shown to those around him, won victoriously. Though his body was sick with cancer, his mind, heart and soul was never touched by this disease. David, dearly loved son of Henry and Linda Wielinga and loving brother of William. Loving grandson of Bill and Kathy Wielinga of Oshawa, and Ron and Margaret Apperley of North York. He will be sadly missed by all his Aunts, Uncles, cousins and many special friends. The family wishes to express their extreme gratitude to our team at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto; Dr. David Malkin, Nurses Julie Constantin and Eleanor Hendershot. Also many thanks to the Home Care nurses, Port Perry Hospital lab team and special gratitude to Dr. Merrilee Brown, who surrounded the family with constant medical guidance, care and loving support. The family will receive friends for Visitation at the Hope Christian Reformed Church, 14480 Old Simcoe Road in Port Perry on Wednesday, May 3rd, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A Service to celebrate David’s life will be held in the Hope CRC on Thursday, May 4th at 10:30am with Pastor Norm Sennema officiating.
