Obituary of Dr. Ralph Price
DR. RALPH M. PRICE
(Family Doctor in Brooklin, Port Perry and Blackstock for over 40 years.)
Suddenly, on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Bowmanville, at age 66. Dr. Ralph Price of Manchester, beloved husband of Patricia (nee Hoare). Loved father of Kim Price and her husband Bruce Burgess of Toronto, Matthew Price of Friedrichshafen, Germany, and Taylor Price and his fianc�e Sylvia Biro of Toronto. Loving grandfather of Mackenzie and Madelaine Burgess. Dear brother of Kathy and her husband Alvin Murphy of Alliston, Doug Price and his wife Diane of Oshawa, and Bob Price and his wife Sharon of Dundalk. Son of the late Clarence and Laurene Price. Son-in-law of John and Blanche Hoare of Barrie. Ralph brought a great passion to all aspects of his life, to his family, to the hundreds of patients in his medical practice and to his pursuit of knowledge in many areas. He had a special passion for history and for the art, furnishings, and artifacts of early Canada. He was tireless in his search for important examples across the country. He also loved contemporary art, in particular the work of untrained, na�ve artists some of which he discovered and brought to prominence. He and his wife Pat created an important collection of Canadiana that is renowned internationally and that has been made available to a wide public in major exhibitions as well as permanent donations to The National Museum of Man. The family of Dr. Price will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Friday, September 22nd from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Service to celebrate his life will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1710 Scugog Street (Hwy 7A) in Port Perry on Saturday, September 23rd at 11 a.m. Private interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert.
