Dear Dad,
Or Brucy as all my friends called him. A regular conversation after school would start with Hey Brucy, and we would get back “What are you shitheads up to?” He called us all that but that's how you knew he loved you. That's just how he was.
When I was young I never thought we had much in common, Dad always struggled trying to teach me things cause I was a lefty, but he would show me then just say "use the other hand". Dad taught me to tie my skates to howw to make worm bobs for mud cat fishing, his famous line was ” You aren't going to learn any younger”, and I now use it with my kids. He made me use a staight blade hockey stcik when I first started playing. I always thought it was a test to see if I really was a lefty but he said all good defensemen use a straight stick. As life went on I started to reliazed we were more alike than I thought. We are both fairly prone to injuries, even matching scars on our chins. But I think I will leave the story of how you got yours out of this. Our love for the outdoors really allowed us to spend a lot of time together although its no secret we would spend a lot of time buying gear, getting organized and neither of us had much success. But we would always end up with a bit of meat in the freezer cause we both have a Free as a best friend. The Free’s had better luck then the Cochrane’s but we would be the first to lend a hand. So many fun stories from the camps over the years with a group of some the best people you could ever meet.
Dad, I can't thank you enough for everything you did for us. You will never be forgotten. I would give anything to just sit in the boat and talk one last time.
Love,
Gavin

Georgeen and family, We were sorry to hear of Bruce’s passing. I will be forever grateful for the many times he used his handyman skills to help my mother over the years. You were the best neighbours she could have asked for. I will miss his smile and wave from the front porch. May he Rest In Peace and I hope that you all find your peace at this time.

This is very hard time for me and I wished I didn’t have to write .I’ve lost a deep close friend. I known Bruce since 6 years old. Went to school with him, played ball, gone fishing and hunting. Chased girls
when we were teens before he met Georgeen .Stayed many nights over at the Cochrane farm.I remember riding on the tractor as Bruce was plowing the north field, riding the back of the hay wagon heading back to the barn with sneaking a cigerette while his dad drove the tractor. Building a club house in Slutes woods.Playing the Lone Ranger in the North Bush. Walking the rail tracks while throwing stones at the telephone line glass conductors .Pruning Christmas trees,Set the books on fire in the Old Raglan school house..
Bruce will always be in our hearts and minds. Now those precious memories have become real and every time I think of Bruce. He will be right there as we medicate.
My heart is broken as Bruce was one of my best friends even as we lived so far away he will always be remembered.
My prayers are for the family and siblings That God will grant you peace during this time.
