To the family of John Wolters
We knew John through his involvement with the farming community. On occasion there would be a chance meeting at a local fair or event and we welcomed the conversations where John was always interested in our family, the farm and the Bowmanville community.
The love of his family was always evident and we know that cherished memories of a life well-lived will bring comfort in the days ahead.
With sincere sympathy,
Tom & Sally Barrie

Our most sincere condolences in your loss of one of our fathers best friends.
John was truly a kind & gentle man who always was positive.
After our father passed John would pop over to visit our mother, they would reminisce about Holland and past time. It was always the highlight of our day.
Wishing you all the best.

Dear Wilma, Joanna and family,
Ann and I extend our condolences from Wolfe Island as we are on our family annual retreat and will not be to be there in person to celebrate John’s life. One of the many blessings we received n our time on Scugog council was to have people of character and deep soul come into our lives as teacher and friend. He and your mother were people of the earth and believed in their responsibilities to be good stewards of the land and their family as people of God. Our faith and nature teaches that death is the final stage of healing in our quest for the fullness of life within the archetypal and universal pattern of creation cum destruction.
I will always cherish John and I conversations in the public consultations of the Township, Vos Grocery or the hospItal and felt his compassion and deep respect when in one those conversations he encouraged me to run for Mayor prior to my final term as Ward 1 Councillor in 2010
As a student of evolutionary spirituality I will see, hear and feel his presence in both of you as we good forward in our common call to be good stewards of our beloved Township and extended families. May the God of Compassion embrace you and your family at this challenging time.Deo Gratias!

I had the great pleasure of getting to know John by being one of his care givers during the last year of his life. During that time he shared all his memories growing up and moving to Canada to meeting his family and friends. I would watch his face glow with pride as he spoke fondly of them all. John was my human GPS as we drove through the country side while he gave me a history lesson of Blackstock and the surrounding area. John told me to always take time out of my day to watch the seasons change, because when he was a younger man he was always too busy to notice.

My condolences to the Wolters clan. He was a great man, I spent many a Thursday afternoon jawing with John on the tête-à-tête on the porch.
Sometimes I’d grab the paper on my way in for him, and any topic was open for discussion. I’d have other deliveries to do, but even when it put me behind schedule I’d still take the time to talk.
He’ll be missed.

I was truly saddened today when I heard of John’s passing. My parents considered John (and Tina) to be good friends and I have many memories of them being at our place for gatherings…. When my dad died, and later my mom- John was present- he was open and thoughtful and truly kind. And Whenever I, or Steve and I would meet him in the grocery store, at the fair- wherever… he would always stop for a chat… he was a ‘good person’ and I know he will be missed. However, I do smile- knowing that he is now with Tina and his friends- probably having a good reunion with everyone!
Please know our condolences and thoughts are with the family and all those who were fortunate enough to know him.

My sincerest condolences to the whole family for the loss of your dad and Grandpa. I have wonderful memories growing up around the farm with John. From catching frogs from the pool, to playing in the bales trying to catch the kittens to helping with the cows. John and Tina would come into the Hyland Restaurant where I worked as a teen and John never missed a beat with asking how everyone in our family was doing. May the memories of him and the love of family surround you and give you strength in the days ahead.
