Jacqueline, Jane, Jill and Jamie,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I had the privilege of teaching with Gloria for a year in the Learning Strategies class at Queen Elizabeth, and it was wonderful to work with her. It was my first time teaching a spec. ed. class and she was so warm and welcoming, sharing her knowledge and experience so freely. Our students absolutely loved her and it was clear how much she cared for them too. I remember before Christmas, she wanted to do something special for the kids, and she began calling local restaurants trying to find the perfect place to orchestrate her surprise. The day before the holidays started, Gloria treated our entire class to lunch at Traditions restaurant down the street from the school. Many of our students came from families who didn't have a lot of money for extras, and they were so excited to be eating out with all their friends. It was a really special day for them, and just one of the many ways that Gloria went above and beyond for our students. I truly loved working with her and I will always remember her kindness. She was a beautiful person and she will be greatly missed.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Ryanne

Jacqueline, Jane, Jill and Jamie I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Gloria at Maxwell. she was one of the first staff that I met and she made me feel so welcome. She was that way with every person she met, always so kind and giving. always with a smile on her face and a positive outlook on life. She could always show you the bright side of any situation. She spoke daily of her wonderful life in the farm, her three amazing girls and her wonderful grandson. I can truly say that I am a better person because Gloria was in my life. may she be in peace sitting on the beach in the beautiful sun.

I am so sorry to hear that you have lost such a wonderful member of your family. I worked with Gloria at Eastdale and was very appreciative of and impressed by her talents as an EA. She was truly connected with the kids in my music classroom and they responded in kind. Gloria was highly effective as an EA. She truly understood and supported my efforts as a music teacher with a multi-level integrated classroom of 38 students. She just 'got it' and was amazing to work with. My deepest regret is not having had the chance to work with her more. I knew that when Gloria was in my room I had a keen, perceptive ally that had the ability to anticipate students' needs. She will be greatly missed at Eastdale.
My sincerest condolences during this difficult time.

Dear Jacqueline, Jane, Jill and Jamie,
How saddened we are - we lost a special bright light in this world with the loss of Gloria this week. Our thoughts are with you.
Gloria had such spirit. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious. She made every second count.
We had many great laughs with Gloria, and there were always adventures. Her beautiful smile, gentle manner, and charismatic ways, always made these adventures so much fun.
We were reminescing this week, about one such adventure up a windy little road to the back door of a famous castle in Germany. All so we could just have a better look! Guess who was driving?
Oh, thank goodness for the great memories she has left us.
May the wonderful memories you have of Gloria, help you through this most difficult time. Rick and Nancy Alston

I had the pleasure of coming into Jills life four years ago and that brought her mom as well. Since then, Gloria has always made me feel so welcome and safe in her home. I remember one time, when my back was really sore, she woke me up with oranges in bed and told me to stay in bed and relax. She just always took care of me when I was there. She was so caring. I was always wanting to go visit Gloria whenever Jill and I could find time during school, just to catch up. She was just comforting. She truly was one of the most generous, beautiful, souls I have ever known and it will always be weird going into the Farm now and not getting a hug and kiss from good ol Gloria eh Jill !! I love you Jilly, I am always beside you every step of the way. <3

Jamie, Jaqueline, Jane and Jill,
I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even begin the imagine the magnitude of your pain as Gloria was such an amazing person. I worked with Gloria at Maxwell Heights for the time she was there and then was lucky enough to work again with her again at Eastdale for a semester. What a comfort to see her face that first day at a new school because she was such a warm, and giving person. When she walked into a room, she commanded it with her warmth, charm and charisma. I will always remember the lunch conversations with the girls at work...Interesting and full of laughter, to say the least! One of the best stories that sticks with me is when she went away on one of her holidays South, and someone in the airport thought she was a movie star, but who it was escapes me right now. Well, Gloria played right along and had pictures taken with the people, and made their day! I laughed quite a while about that one. The students Gloria supported through the years also loved her, and knew she had their best interests at heart. She was such an advocate for them.
Hold on strong to all of your memories of such a wonderful woman as she was very proud of all of you, and talked of you all often.

As one of Jill's close friends, I was lucky enough to grow up spending so much of my time at the house on Aberdeen; where I always felt so comfortable, welcomed and loved. When I think of my childhood, I think of all the fun times I was able to share with Jill, her mom and family. I truly owe most of my fondest memories to Gloria and her unending generosity, kindness and HUGE heart. I feel incredibly blessed to have had such an amazing woman like Gloria to look up to. Beyond generous, loving, witty, welcoming, warm, fun, lively (and we cannot forget fashionable!) Gloria was a ray of sunshine who warmed the hearts of everyone she met. Gloria could always make us laugh and knew how to point you in the right direction at a crossroads, too. The most perfect combination of mother and friend for Jill and her sisters. I will always know Gloria as truly inspirational and beautiful woman inside and out. My heart goes out to your entire family and I hope you know that I am sending all my love. Your mom was such a strong woman and I know you will all carry her strength with you through this unbearably difficult time and always; together, with lots of love and beautiful memories to share and remember with one another. Praying for you, Jill, Jane (Ryan), Jacqueline (Keith), Michael, Jamie and family. All my love, Alexa.

Jacqueline, Jane, Jill and Jamie: Please accept my most sincere condolences. I haven't stopped thinking about Gloria since I, so very co-incidentally, was talking with Jamie way back in June and later was given updates from Jacquie about the prognosis that she likely wouldn't be coming home after her procedure. Gloria was going through my mind today and just as I was ready to give Jacquie a call I decided to google instead and read the lovely tribute to her. It's wonderful that Pat was mentioned as well; I know how close those two sisters were. I still miss Pat; she was a wonderful friend to me and my husband, Gary and through Pat, Gloria became a good friend as well. It's been said so often but it is so true: words really can't express the sorrow at the loss of such a beautiful, kind, loving woman. I feel grateful that I did have a chance to know her; I know she was very, very proud of her daughters and that she loved you all dearly. I also know you all felt - and will still feel that way - about her. Take care of yourselves and stay close. Pat Ranalli.
